New professor nomination at the Institute for Bartłomiej Witkowski

We are happy to announce that our colleague Bartłomiej Witkowski, by the decision of the President of the Republic of Poland of February 18, 2025, received the academic title of Professor of Natural Sciences in Physics.

Our newly appointed full professor has been employed at the Institute of Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences since 2009, and since December 2024 he has been serving as the Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs.

Professor Bartłomiej Witkowski graduated in 2009 from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, School of Exact Sciences, at the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw. He obtained his doctorate in physical sciences in 2014, and his habilitation in the field of exact and natural sciences in 2019 at the Institute of Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences, where he has been head of the Physics of Oxide Nanostructures Team since 2022.

 His research interests mainly concern various oxide nanostructures, in particular their technology, properties and potential applications in many fields including electronics, optoelectronics, biology and medicine. He is also a specialist in scanning electron microscopy and related techniques.
